Coronavirus spreads to 76 nations

More than 95000 coronavirus infection cases have been reported globally.As per data released by WHO , 12 668 confirmed (2103new) have been reported from 76 countries (4 new). Till date about 3200 deaths including China have occured.

Four new Member States (Argentina, Chile, Poland and Ukraine) have reported cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

California,Spain and Iraq has reported their first deaths due to COVID19.

Italy has closed all schools ,collages,swiming pools and public functions in the country to contains the outbreak.More than 100000 persons are being quarantined.

In USA,E Commerce giant Amazon has advised all employees in Seattle and Bellevue to work from home until the end of March, according to a statement from an Amazon spokesperson.

China reported 80 422 confirmed cases of COVID19 till 4th March, out of which 120 are new cases of infection.Till 4th March, 2984 deaths ,out of which 38 are new death cases have been reported in China.

A Christian cult in South Korea is heavily hit

About 5,766 cases of COVID19 infection has been reported fron South Korea.It is the 2nd largest national data globally.Intrestinglly,it is being reported that about half of these reported cases are linked to a religious grouped named the Shincheonji religious group,southern city of Daegu.This Christian group believes that its founder and chairman, Lee Man-hee is the Promised Pastor mentioned in religious book the Bible.

The WHO Prequalification Team announced that the Emergency Use Listing (EUL) is now open to candidate in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) laboratory tests to detect COVID-19 virus.

The EUL procedure is developed to expedite the availability of IVDs needed in public health emergency situations.Manufacturers are invited to submit an Expression of Interest.

Disruptions to the global supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) are leaving healthcare workers ill-equipped to care for patients. WHO is working with governments, industry and the Pandemic Supply Chain Network to boost production and secure allocations for critically affected and at-risk countries.
