After leaving a battered and devastated trail in Odisha and West Bangal, Very Severe Cyclonic cyclone Fani will hit Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and Bangladesh today.Although very heavy damage was witnessed in Odisha,very few persons have lost their life.

State & Central Government deserve praise

The Central Government,NDMA,NDRF, India Meteorological Department (IMD),State Government of Odissa,local police and SDRF must be praised that they issued timely early warning,evacuated lakhs of people,gave very accurate forecast of route and speed and tried to minimise the loss of life and property.It is a big success story in Field of Disaster and Emergency Management in India.

#CycloneFani to pass through Gangetic West Bengal as a #SevereCyclonicStorm with very high wind speed of 90 -100 Kilometers per hour.India Meteorological Department, has forcast that it is very likely to emerge into Bangladesh this evening as a Cyclonic Storm . ♦ Gale wind, speed reaching 90-100 kmph gusting to 115 kmph very likely to prevail over southwest West Bengal for about 12 hours and decrease thereafter. Sea conditions likely to be high to very high over northwest Bay of Bengal, along & off Odisha and West Bengal coasts for 12 hours. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.

♦ Strong surface winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph ) likely to prevail over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.
