Government intensifies the relief operation in Kerala
Today,Central government is sending 60 tons of essential medicines from Hindon Airbase (Gaziabad,Delhi NCR, to Thiruvananthapuram airport for providing medical care to victims of Kerala flood.
A dedicated team of trained 70 doctors and 30 medics along with medical assistants with all essential medicines are being dispatched from Mumbai to Thiruvananthapuram.
Today, two specialized boats of BSF are also reach the flood affected areas in Kerala.These are being sent from Vizag to Thiruvananthapuram (will reach today).
NTPC and PGCIL has been directed to restore power lines at the earliest.In fact,many teams of these organisations have started working on power lines.
NHAI has be directed to repair roads on utmost priority.The roads are worst casualty of available infrastructure in this Kerala flood.Road are necessary to speed up the relief operation and rehabilitation and reconstruction process after this devastation.Roads are needed for carrying relief material,reconstruction material,essential ration,medicines,clothing,fuel etc to the flood affected parts of Kerala.NHAI is also working to repairs bridges damaged because of flood.
Central government has issued strict directions to Insurance companies to organise special camps and do timely assessments and release the claims at the earliest under Social Security Scheme.concerned department has been directed to issue early clearance for claims under Fasal Bima Yojna for farmers.
57 teams of NDRF ( about 1300 personnel) and 435 boats are involved in relief operation in Kerala.Many companies of ITBP ,BSF,CISF,RAF etc along with Army are involved in this massive search and rescue operation.
A total 38 helicopters are working full time to rescue victims to safer places.These helicopters are also being used for carrying essential items for victims.
10 columns and 10 teams of Engineering Task Force (almost 790 personnel) are working there.20 aircraft are working full times to ferry resources and supplies.42 teams ,two helicopters and 2 ships of Coast Guard are working round the clock.2 teams of Indian Navy are working there.
