Heavy snow possible for parts of the Central & Southern Rockies
Heavy snow possible for parts of the Central/Southern Rockies( USA) and lake effect snow for parts of the Upper Great Lakes in USA and temperatures will be 10 to 20 degrees below average over parts of the Central Rockies and Central/Southern Plains

Upper-level energy will move across the Upper Great Lakes overnight Saturday into Sunday evening producing lake effect snow downwind from the Great Lakes through Sunday morning. In addition, a front extending from the Northern Plains northwestward into Western Canada will move eastward to the Great Lakes southwestward to parts of the Southern Plains by Monday.
The system will produce snow over parts of the Northern Rockies into the Northern Plains that will move eastward into parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes on Sunday morning, moving into the Upper Great Lakes by Monday. The snow will end over the Northern Rockies/Northern High Plains overnight Sunday.
Meanwhile, upper-level energy over parts of the Northern Intermountain Region/Great Basin will move southeastward to the Southern Rockies/Southern Plains by Monday. On Sunday morning, snow will develop over parts of the Central Rockies and expand into parts of the Central/Southern Plains as well as the Southern Rockies by Sunday evening.
The snow will continue to expand eastward into the Middle Mississippi Valley overnight Sunday into Monday and farther south over parts of the Southern Rockies, too. As the upper-level energy moves eastward, moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico will move northward over the Western Gulf Coast into the Southern Plains that will transition to the Central Gulf Coast by Monday.

The thunderstorms will produce heavy rain at times over parts of the Western/Central Gulf Coast late Sunday night into Monday morning. Additionally, rain will develop north of the thunderstorms over parts of the Southern Plains overnight Sunday into Monday. The rain will expand into parts of the Lower Mississippi and Tennessee Valleys also overnight Sunday.
