An Indian Air Force Jaguar Fighter Aircraft crashed near Gorakhpur at 1240 hrs on 28 th Jan,2018. The aircraft was on a routine mission and was airborne from Gorakhpur at 1211 hrs. It was reported that three aircrafts were on routine flight.
Eyewitnesses said that they saw a huge blast in aircraft in the sky itself.The aircraft crashed near Hetimpur village of Kasya police station of Kushinagar district in UP.
Jaguars are one of the oldest fighter aircrafts which IAF is using.Very few countires in world are using these vintage models.
The aircraft fell as ball of fire on ground.Villagers said that the crashed aircraft continued to burn even after felling on the ground.Hundred of villagers gathered near the crash site.Some of onlookers made video of this crash and posted on social media.

Aircraft crashed at approximate distance of 46 Km east of Gorakhpur. Wing Commander Pilot S Katoch ejected safely. The pilot of ill fated aircraft landed safely with help of parachute.During this landing he hit trees and sustained injury also.
Later helicopter of Indian Air Force reached the crash site.The pilot was later rescued and shifted to hospital in Gorakhpur.
Indian Air Force has ordered a Court of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the accident.
