IAF Microlight Aircraft Met with an Accident

A microlight aircraft of the Indian Air Force was airborne from Air Force Station Hindan for a routine bird reconnaissance sortie on 05 Oct 18 at 0836 hrs.  The aircraft met with an accident at 0902 hrs approximately 24 Nautical Miles from Hindan Air Base.
After the accident ,the aircraft crash-landed in a field near Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. It is reported that two pilots were in this aircraft and both pilots are safe. The aircraft developed a snag about thirty minute later when it took off from the Hindan airbase near Delhi for a routine bird reconnaissance sortie at 8.36 a.m. The pilots displayed commendable courage and skill when they parachuted down the aircraft.
Both the pilots are safe. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered by the IAF to ascertain the cause of the accident.
