The monsoon trough is likely to remain active with fresh cyclonic circulations developing over the trough zone during the next 4­5 days. The East ­West shear zone is likely to shift further northwards and merge with the monsoon trough after 2 days.
As a result, fairly widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy/very heavy falls are likely to continue over Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh during next 4­5 days. Rainfall activity is likely to increase over northeastern states, West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha during 31st August ­02nd September.
Rainfall activity over Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and Gujarat is likely to be scattered to fairly widespread with moderate intensity in general during next 4­5 days. The ongoing isolated to scattered rainfall is likely to continue over remaining parts of northwest India, Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during next 2­3 days.
