On 09/08/17 at about 630 in evening a Maruti swift car with registration number HP92 0356 skided and rolled down in Ganvi Khad near Jeori area of Hima Chal Pradesh.It was reported that two person namely Giri Raj from Fancha ,Tehsil-, Rampur,district- Shimla 9HP ) age 28 year and Mukesh recident of Nanti Tehsil Rampur Bushar, District- Shimla (HP), age 26 years, were travelling.
It was reported that both travellers got washed away in very fast current of the nalah Gavni khad. Search operation was immediately launched by local police and ITBP, which specialises in disaster management in Himalayas .It was aborted due to darkness. Next day the search and rescue operation continued.no bodies were found. However, ITBP troops were able to retrieve the ill fated car from fast flowing water.
ITBP personnel of nearby 43 battalion participated in this daring rescue work. Local population have high praise for disaster management work being done by ITBP.
