Forecast for next two week Weather systems & associated Precipitation during Week 1(09 to 15 August, 2018) and Week 2 (16 to 22 August, 2018) o Under the influence of a fresh low pressure area, which is likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood around 13th August and strong southerly winds from Bay of Bengal to northeastern states, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over northeastern states, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh during most days of the 1st week. o Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with heavy rainfall at isolated places is also very likely along west coast during most days of the 1st week. o Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall activity is very likely to occur over remaining parts of the country outside West Rajasthan, Gujarat state, Marathawada, Telengana, Rayalaseema and Tamilnadu, where light isolated rainfall is very likely to occur during the 1st week . o Overall rainfall activity is likely to be normal to above normal rainfall activity is very likely to confine over most parts of northwest (excluding Rajasthan) & east India and extreme south Peninsula during 1st week. o During week 2, rainfall scenario likely to improve further and normal to above normal rainfall activity is very likely to confine over northwest (except Uttar Pradesh), central and east India.
