MTNL Perfect Health Mela witnesses Emergency Management Drills
25 th MTNL Perfect Health Mela witnessed Emergency Management Drills conducted by CDEP – Centre for Disaster & emergency Preparedness. In this drill ,volunteers of CDEP performed simulated exercises in
front of crowd in which management of health emergencies like road traffic accidents, earthquake, fire injuries etc. was shown.These drills attracted large crowd of spectators.Dr Nishchal Gupta is the founder of CDEP.
Fire Department of NDMC,under leadership of Mr Sajjan Sharma,Chief Fire Officer, also participated in this event.Its teams conducted fire fighting and fire safety drills for the children.

25 th MTNL Perfect Health Mela was organized in Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi from 23 rd – 27 th Oct 2018 by Heart Care Foundation of India under the aegis of Padamshri Dr K K Aggarwal.
Padamshri Dr K K Aggarwal has been the pioneer in health education for masses in India.He has been the guiding force behind Perfect Health Mela which is being organized in Delhi since more than two decades.
In its silver jubilee year, event saw participation of more than 200 educational institutions; Healthcare organizations.Many banners and posters were displayed to create awareness about different health issues.
Various health issues like cancer,stroke,COPD,obesity,prevention etc were discussed.Disaster and Emergency Management is now becoming integral part of all the health melas being organized these days.
High population growth and poverty are major cause which frequently create emergency medical situations in India.Awareness and training about different medical emergency situation is the most perfect way to handle these issue in a cost effective ways.

Special attraction this year was Post the hour long drill volunteers trained students of various institutions in the activities performed in the drill like making a stretcher from bed sheets, fireman’s lift, First aid, CPR etc.
Institutions like Manav Rachna University, GD Goenka University participated in the event. In all 650 students of approx 20 institutions were handed over the certificate of participation post the drill. Also students were encouraged to take part in DIY activities like making a trash bag from waste newspaper & making a life jacket out of plastic bottles.
