Monsoon 2019: Update on Rescue Operations by NDRF in Flood hit areas
126 NDRF teams deployed across the country, evacuated over 14,000 people
A total of 126 self-contained rescue & relief teams of NDRF have been deployed across the country for prompt response during the monsoon season. Till now, NDRF has rescued 15 persons, evacuated over 14000 persons & 130 live-stocks and also provided medical assistance to over 6220 (persons) & 795 (live-stocks)

Yesterday, due to immediate response by specialized rescuers of NDRF, 06 persons were safely evacuated at Betiah in Bihar who were stranded in strong current of Pandai River at Sri Rampur village under block Gonaha since morning. Deployed NDRF teams acted promptly and evacuated all stranded victims to safer places. Teams also evacuated 35 live-stocks on NDRF boats.
In addition, yesterday, NDRF teams operational at Kokrajhar, Barpeta & Baksa in Assam evacuated 633 persons to safer places. They also provided medical assistance to 487 needy persons.
To ensure better emergency communication system,a 24X7, NDRF control room in Delhi is functioning round the clock to watch the ongoing operations and in touch with other agencies to further respond in case of emergencies. DG NDRF Sh. S. N. Pradhan, is personally monitoring the situation.
