Latest report says that Capt Amrinder Singh ,The Chief Minister of Punjab,has ordered an enquiry on Amritsar train accident.In this train accident,more than 60 persons are reported to have died when two trains ran over the spectators who had assembled on the railways track near joda Phatak to watch Rawan Dahan in Amritsar.
He has announced a compensation of Rs-5 lakh for the kins of dead.
Capt Amrinder Singh,the CM of Punjab has set up a Crisis Management Group to monitor the relief and rehabilitation efforts. The Group is led by Health Min Shri Brahm Mohindra, with Revenue Minister Shri Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria & Technical Edu Min Shri Charanjit S Channi as members.The team has rushed to the accident site in Amritsar.
Meanwhile Mrs Navjot Kaur,who was blamed for abandoning the incident site after seeing the accident, has denied the allegation.She has tweeted that she has left the venue just before the incident.It was also alleged that She reached late and because of this delay the whole function was delayed .
In a damage control gesture ,she rushed to hospitals where victims are admitted in Amritsar.
It is being reported that both trains were traveling in same direct.Amritsar to Hawra train was traveling on this track.
Railways has not announced any compensation yet.
MoS Railways Manoj Sinha has informed that Medical teams are rushing to the spot.He said that he is also leaving for the site of the accident. he said that people present near the railway track couldnt hear the sound of the approaching train due bursting crackers: MoS Railways Manoj Sinha
Meanwhile,politics has diverted the attention from the disaster to party politics.It is sad to see.
