It is very likely to move north-northwestwards and cross Odisha & adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coasts close to Gopalpur around morning of 11th October said India Meteorological Department in its forecast bulletine. The very Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘TITLI’ over westcentral Bay of Bengal moved north-northwestwards with a speed of about 14 kmph during past 06 hours and lay centred at 1730 hrs IST on 10 th October 2018 over West-central Bay of Bengal near Lat.17.5°N and Long. 85.3°E,about 200 km southsoutheast of Gopalpur (Odisha) and 150 km southeast of Kalingapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).
The Future course of Titli
The very severe cyclonic storm TITLI ’is being monitored by the coastal Doppler Weather Radars at
Visakhapatnam, Gopalpur and Paradip. The latest observations indicate that the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm
‘TITLI’ over westcentral Bay of Bengal moved north west wards with a speed of about 17 kmph during past 06 hours,
crossed north Andhra Pradesh ,south Odisha coasts,near latitude 18.8°N and longitude 84.5°E (near Palasa,Srikakulam District ) to the southwest of Gopalpur, as a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm with estimated maximum
sustained surface wind speed of 140 -150 Km ph gusting to 165 Kmph between 0430 and 0530 hours IST of today,
the 11th October 2018.
It lay centred at 0530 hrs IST of today, the 11th October 2018 over north Coastal Andhra Pradesh & adjoining south Odisha near latitude 18.8°N and longitude 84.4°E,about 70 km south west of Gopalpur and 60 km north-northeast
of Kalingapatnam .
According to hourly coastal observations,Gopalpur reported surface wind speed of 126 kmph at 0430 hours IST
and Kalingapatnam reported 59 kmph at 0330 hrs IST of today, the 11th October 2018 .
It is very likely to move northwestwards for next 12 hours and then re-curve northeastwards towards Gangetic West Bengal across Odisha.
It is very likely to weaken gradually becoming severe cyclonic storm around noon, cyclonic storm around evening of today and a deep depression by morning of tomorrow , the 12th October 2018.
The Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (LUBAN) over westcentral Arabian Sea moved westnorthwestwards with a speed
of 06 kmph during past 06 hours and lay centred at 1730 hrs IST 10 th October 2018 over westcentral Arabian Sea, near Latitude 14.4°N and Longitude 58.6°E, about 560 km eastsoutheast of Salalah (Oman), 540 km eastnortheast of Socotra Islands (Yemen) and 720 km eastsoutheast of AlGhaidah (Yemen). It is very likely to intensify further and move westnorthwestwards towards Yemen & South Oman Coasts during next 4 days.
Effect of two Cyclones
In view of the above two intense systems, fishermen are advised not to venture into west central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal, north Andhra Pradesh OdishaWest Bengal coasts during next 48 hours, over West Central Arabian Sea during next 5 days and over southwest Arabian Sea during next 24 hours.

Machilipatnam, Kurnool, Gadag, Vengurla and Lat. 16°N/ Long. 60°E.
