EM reporters from many parts of hill states of India and IMD report indicates that travelling should be avoided in mountains, today. Travelling in most part of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu Kashmir Should be avoided in view of persisted rain during most part of the day. At many places on hillside roads the danger of landslide also exists. Temperature in hills will fall therefore travelers are advised to wear warm clothing and appropriate water protection. They are also advised to carry appropriate emergency ration and first aid kit and medicines.
Those travelling with children must take adequate food, water, medicines, warm clothing etc.
Avoid stopping your vehicle at rockfall areas, landslide prone areas, shooting stones area and those places were water is accumulating.
The axis of monsoon trough at mean sea level continues to pass through Amritsar, Patiala, Pilibhit, Gonda, Azamgarh, Jamui, Bardwan, Digha and thence southeastwards to Northeast Bay of Bengal. The cyclonic circulation over northern parts of Haryana & neighbourhood at 0.9 km above mean sea level persists. The cyclonic circulation over northern parts of Jammu & Kashmir and neighbourhood at 5.8 km above mean sea level persists.
