#Odisha: Massive operation launched to evacuate over eight lakh people from low-lying coastal areas as the extremely severe cyclonic storm #Fani moved closer to the eastern coast.
Airports Authority of India (@AAI_Official) issues an alert to all coastal airports to take precautionary measures in the view of #cyclonicstormFANI.

IMD: #CycloneFani is very likely to move northwestwards during next 12 hrs & thereafter recurve north-northwestwards & cross Odisha coast between Gopalpur & Chanbali, to the south of Puri around 3May afternoon with maximum sustained wind of speed 175-185 kmph gusting to 205 kmph.
NDMA- Sea conditions likely to be phenomenal over west-central & off north T.Nadu, Puducherry, South Andhra coasts & over northwest BOB.High to phenomenal sea conditions likely along & off Odisha & W.B coast; Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
As #CycloneFani comes closer to #Odisha Coast ,State Govt issues Cyclone alert to all districts collectors to be Prepared; All Educational institutions in #Odisha closed tomorrow; 20 ODRAF units ,18 NDRF units and 300 rescue boats are kept ready.
NDRF -Sea condition is phenomenal over west-central Bay of Bengal neighbourhood and phenomenal sea conditions over SW Bay & adjoining west central BOB and along & off north Tamilnadu Puducherry and south Andhra Pradesh coasts. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
