India plans Chandrayan 3 as ISRO has prepared a roadmap of lunar exploration missions to master the technologies required.
This roadmap has been presented to the space commission.
Based on the final analysis and recommendations of the expert committee, works on future lunar missions are progressing.
Chandrayaan-2 mission, a highly complex mission, which represents a significant technological leap compared to the previous missions of ISRO.
It involved an Orbiter, Lander and Rover with the goal of exploring south pole of the Moon.
This mission aims at studying not just one area of the Moon but all the areas combining the exosphere, the surface as well as the sub-surface of the moon in a single mission.
It is a successful mission with slight hiccup of wrong landing of lander at moon surface at South pole.
